- Remove and clean pit.
- Locate which end is “up” and which end is “down”
- Pierce with three toothpicks.
- Place seed half-submerged in a glass of water.
- WAIT FOR YOUR AVOCADO SEED TO SPROUT.
- Pot in soil when tree is about 15cm tall.
- Water and watch it grow.
How do I look after my avocado plant?
Keep the plant soil consistently moist but not over watered. Overwatering will cause the leaves to curl and the stem to soften– not a desirable trait. Don’t under water the avocado either or the foliage will wilt, dry and drop. Your avocado, as with most houseplants, will need to be fed.

Avocado stones can be coaxed into germinating with some heat, moisture and a humid atmosphere. One popular method of getting them to germinate is to pierce the stone with four toothpicks and suspend it above a cup of water, making sure the base of the stone touches the water.
Can I plant my avocado tree outside UK?
Avocado plants are best grown in containers in a warm, bright spot indoors. They can also be grown in a heated greenhouse. You can move an established plant outdoors for the summer, into a warm, sheltered spot in dappled shade, especially in milder areas of the UK. In winter, keep plants indoors at 13–18°C (55–65°F).
